But josei is good too, they have sex in every chapter (though, there is a certain cuteness to 'shojo' boys that men in josei manga cannot convey as they usually wear suits and are not so pretty-looking ) I am 27 but my head turns when I see hot teenage boys on the street. Which technically makes me a pedo U_U
Uh... Shojo, though geared towards teenagers and tweens, can contain "mature/sexual content." Though it's Josei that is geared towards older teens on up to the 30-something age range and may or may not have more explicit mature/sexual content.
IE: Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon VS her Revolutionary Girl Utena and most of her other later works VS Shinjo Mayu. =^.^'=
XD On a rather random note, you're mostly right! Josei is written for older female audiences, but it isn't always mature. Ecchi is generally aimed at boys; kind of like shounen with random fanservice for males... I think smut might be the best description for mature shoujo. :3
Ah, I was thinking of ecchi as a genre (intended to arouse without being explicit, the kind of manga with loads of fanservice and "woops I walked into the wrong dressing room"-shit, it is used like that) rather than as a tag for "it has sex". But I should mention that when I wrote this post I was in volume eight or so, Nana didn't contain much sex and it was portrayed as a source of drama rather than appealing... and then Nobu started dating a porn star xD
for me too! Its actually really hard to find 'mature shojo' ;_; it makes me sad. The comic Sensual Phrase is the only one I've been able to find so far.. and no anime's really.. so please keep it up! It is my drug as well, and you're a main supplier! <3
